T Lawrence-Simon is a Boston-based aerial performer and coach known for his innovative transitions and creative whimsy. From childhood, he pursued a professional career in theater, and found his specialty in physical theater. During college, T started splitting his time between his theater career and his new love of circus. Following college, he attended the New England Center for Circus Arts' 2 year professional training program, and halfway through, he was hired to run the aerial hoop program, and trained in advanced fabric under Elsie Smith. After his time at NECCA, T coached at various schools, moving around until settling in Boston, a brilliant and vibrant circus school called ESH Circus Arts, where he is the advanced silks, hoop, and trapeze instructor, as well as theater teacher for their professional development program. As a performer, T performs solo trapeze and hoop with the Boston Circus Guild, and is one half of a super snazzy trapeze duo with his partner Tori Markwalder. He is the creator of the Hoop Artist Teacher Training Program, and Flying Stitch Labs, a circusy costuming and craft business. He is super excited to be judging at COTAC this year, and hopes that it's air conditioned.
